Although cloud computing plays a major role in modern network architecture. Internet of things(IoT) devices use these cloud computing networking to succeed in their process but the issue is a host(source) of that IoT device must be located to closer. What is the solution? Yeah, the answer is edge networking. Next, see what is this edge networking?

What is Edge networking?

Edge computing is a distributed computing architecture that brings computation and data storage as close to the point of request as possible in order to deliver low latency and save bandwidth. We can also call this process edge computing. So main goal is to implement decentralized data centers and exploiting smart objects and network gateways to provide services on behalf of cloud computing.

How does Edge networking work?

Special branch routers and network edge routers located at the network boundary usually use dynamic or static channel power via Ethernet to send or receive data between internal and external networks. Moving services closer to locations on the edge of the network facilitates content storage, storage, IoT management, and service delivery, which contributes to improved transmission rates and response times. The high-speed data network is the key to effective 5G deployment, which requires edge computing architecture to bottlenecks.

Network edge vs network core

The network core is a common network function which we use. It is basic process is interconnected to various part of the network and provide a path for the exchange of information within data centers and between other data centers via routers and switches.

The edge distribution network is consisting of edge devices such as computers, WIFI access points, and desktop and wiring closet switches, also known as host or end systems, that are connected at the edge of the network.

Benefits of the edge networking

1. Speed — Speed is absolutely vital for any company. In the financial sector most time their customer satisfaction depends on the transmission and processing speed of the information. Such as banks, trading companies. And also health care industry losing any second can be a matter life or death. Edge networking's most significant benefit is its ability to increase network performance and reducing latency and increasing bandwidth. However, more and more data transmitted in the future. In 2020 world generated roughly 44 trillion gigabytes of data. Most analytics predict in 2025, 463 billion gigabytes of data will be generated every day. So edge networking is a solution that kind of data traffic. By processing data closer to the source and reducing the physical distance it must travel, so the impact is reducing the latency.

2. Security — While the proliferation of IoT computer devices expands the entire network attack area and offers some important security benefits. The traditional technology of cloud computing is centralized, making it vulnerable to attacks on service denials (DDoS) and power outages. Edge computing spreads processing, storage, and applications across a wide range of devices and data centers, making it difficult for any single disruption to slow down the entire network.

3. Scalability-In short, end-to-end computing provides a more cost-effective approach to scalability, allowing companies to increase their computing power through the integration of IoT devices and edge data centers. The use of computer devices on the active edge also reduces growth costs because each new additional device does not impose large bandwidth requirements in the network context.

4. Versatility-The decline of the computer on the edge also plays into its various functions. By working with data centers on the edge, local companies can easily target desirable markets without investing in expanding expensive infrastructure.

The future of edge computing

In the future more and more IoT devices will be build. The impact is growing more IoT edge devices, to improve network speed and enhanced customer experiences. This will be an ideal solution for fast-growing agile companies. Another advance is in more and more internet devices are come into the society. So more new edge technologies will have arrived to the next decade.
